I received this recipe with a shower gift years ago, and filed it away carefully. Many years later, travelling from Northern to Southern Alberta to attend a family funeral, Marilyn herself stopped at ourfarm because it was snowing so dreadfully much she was afraid to drive any farther. It was May; the apple tree was in bloom and I had a few cucumbers already sprouted in the garden. The greyhound bus was stuck on the big bend on 44, in a snow drift that blew in from our west fields. As we sat and visited, she mentioned making fudge as a child when the weather was that bad. I jumped up and found the recipe, and she made a wonderful batch of fudge. We played cards, visited, and ate fudge for the next 2 days. The cucumbers didn’t survive, but the memories did!
