Moist Raisin Cake

1 c water

1 c raisins Boil
| |
½ c margarine
(or other shortening) Stir in
| |
1 c sugar
| |
1 egg
| |
1 tsp soda
| |
1 ¾ c flour
| |
2 tsp cinnamon
| |
1 tsp allspice Add
| |
Bake on a greased cookie sheet or line it with partchment paper.
17 minutes @ 350 o
| |
This keeps wonderfully well for several days. I used to make it a lot in the fall when one would rush in from field work for a quick snack before heading out to the truck/combine/cultivator for a few more hours.

I'm going to make this this afternoon. You know what you should do?? You (or your daughter the photographer, the one that lives with you...) could take photos of each of the recipes as you make them. Or add later to the recipes you already have as you make them. Nothing like a good cookbook with pictures!
