Stovetop Dressing

This recipie was given to me in 1993 by a friend who overheard me complaining about the price of boughten stovetop dressing.  It is delicious, economical to make, and can be improved on by adding grated carrots and or dried cranberries.  A few years ago I made it for a wedding.  In under an hour I had enough dressing, made in four batches, to feed 450 people.  The good thing about this is that there are no eggs or meat added to make one wonder, two days later, when they take it out of the 'fridge, if or not it is safe to eat.
